New Orleans, Louisiana

The devastating effects of Hurricane Katrina were felt far and wide – for many the rebuilding is still in progress.

Hailey, McNamara, Hall, Larmann & Papale, L.L.P. is a litigation firm with offices in New Orleans, Baton Rouge, the Mississippi Gulf Coast, and a short distance from the neighboring parishes of southern Louisiana.

Directly in the path of that fateful storm, the New Orleans office suffered major damages – windows blown out, carpets and furniture soaked – and the potential for mold infestation.

Facing the daunting task of finding a local restoration firm, in the days that followed Katrina, the building owner contacted ACR. All City Restoration had previously provided services for the building owner in the New York metro area. (Most recently at 2001 Marcus Avenue in Lake Success.) The next day the trucks were loaded and headed south…

The photo above shows the end result of ACR’s restoration process. A combination of carefully orchestrated project management, a clear understanding of the client ‘s unique situation and using the latest techniques held business interruption costs to a minimum.

J & R Music
Lower Manhattan, New York

As one of the largest electronics retailers in New York City J&R Music is an anchor store in Lower Manhattan. During the events of September 11th 2001 the location on Park Row sustained considerable damage. Windows were blown out, soot and dust impacted not only the inventory but the carpeting, elevators, escalators – even the air conditioning.

When ACR was called in we were asked to do the near impossible – get the store back to business as usual in the shortest time possible. This was not only critical to the stores financial health but also the well-being of the neighborhood. Since opening in 1971 the store had grown to occupy a complete city block – close to 300,000 square feet of retail and warehouse space.

We began working on the location as soon as we were allowed to enter the area. This project included interior restoration, removal of yards of refuse and power wash cleaning of the exterior. All City Restoration completed the project in just over six weeks and by October 22nd they were ready to open to the public.

Former Mayor Rudy Giuliani, at the reopening of the retail store called J&R “a vital part of the redevelopment of Lower Manhattan” – for all of us at ACR it was just a job well done.
